My Top 2015 Reads

This was a great year for me as a reader.  I read some amazing books from my favorite authors and I also was introduced to the indie author world and discovered so many new awesome authors.

Here are my Top 5 favorite books that I read this year.

Stay by B.A. Wolfe
This is the second book in the Keaton Series.  This book wrapped up Cassie's story beautifully.  I think I can count on one hand the number of times a book has made me ugly cry.  There was a point in this book where I had to set it down and I just sobbed for about 10 minutes.  My husband was starting to get concerned ;)  But really though, this book has all of the feels!  I loved it and B.A. Wolfe has moved onto my list of favorite authors.

After the Storm by Faith Andrews
Faith is another new favorite author that I discovered this year.  I loved all of the books in her Dream series, but After the Storm was my favorite.  I loved Willow and Noah's story.  Faith writes such relatable characters, it's easy to get drawn into her books.

Pretending He's You by Stacey Mosteller
This is the story of Liv, Tyler, and Emmett.  I'm not usually a fan of love triangles but Stacey did an amazing job on this one.  I'm looking forward to reading the conclusion of their story.

Slammed by Colleen Hoover
I checked this book out from the library because I wanted to see if Colleen's books were really as good as everyone said they were.  This book sucked me in from the very beginning and gripped me until the end.  I had to go and read the other two books in the Slammed series.  My expectations were definitely met with this one.

The Selection by Kiera Cass
I wasn't sure how well I would like this book since it was considered a young adult/teen book, but several of my friends recommended it so I decided to check it out.  I'm glad I did!  This is another book that sucked me right in and I quickly went and got the rest of the books in the series so I could read them also.

Logan's 8th Birthday

So, today my youngest son turned 8 years old.  That just seems crazy to me.  My boys are growing up on me.  :(

We had a party for Logan yesterday at the movie theater.  It was our first time having a birthday party there so we weren't really sure what to expect.  It turned out great though and now Logan is requesting that we have his party there every year from now on LOL.

The employees set up some tables for us in the lobby area where we could set up with cake and presents and everything else.  Once everyone got to the party we had cake and then Logan opened his presents.  While he was opening presents an employee took our drink orders.  Once Logan was finished opening everything, we just hung out in the lobby until it was time for us to go into the theater for the movie.  All of the kids had a great time hanging out with each other.

Each person at the party got a small drink and a popcorn, so that was pretty cool.

You know the ads that are usually playing on the screen before a movie starts?  While the ads on the screen were going, Christmas music was playing in the background.  It was "We Wish You a Merry Christmas."   When the kids in our group heard the music playing, they all started singing along to it and then the entire theater joined in with them.  It was really sweet.  <3 <3 <3

We watched the new Goosebumps movie and it was awesome!  It actually scared me a couple of times haha.  If you haven't seen the movie yet, I won't spoil it for you, but the ending...???!!!   OH MY GOSH!  It made my entire body shiver.  Creeeeeppppyyyyy.

About the Author

Rebecca Yarros is a hopeless romantic and lover of all things chocolate, coffee, and Paleo. In addition to being a mom, military wife, and blogger, she can never choose between Young Adult and New Adult fiction, so she writes both. She's a graduate of Troy University, where she studied European history and English, but still holds out hope for an acceptance letter to Hogwarts. Her blog, The Only Girl Among Boys, has been voted the Top Military Mom Blog the last two years, and celebrates the complex issues surrounding the military life she adores.
When she's not writing, she's tying on hockey skates for her kids, or sneaking in some guitar time. She is madly in love with her army-aviator husband of eleven years. They finally can call Colorado home along with their gaggle of rambunctious kiddos and snoring English Bulldog.
